5. Cookies, Pixels and Tracking Technologies

Segwitz.com uses or may use cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies to operate and secure the website, understand visitor behaviour, improve user experience, measure advertising performance and conduct relevant marketing activities.

These technologies may store or access information on your browser or device.

We may classify them into the following categories.

Essential and Security Technologies

These technologies are necessary for website functionality, security, fraud prevention or protection against automated abuse.

Analytics Technologies

These technologies help us understand:

  • how many people visit the website;

  • which pages are viewed;

  • how visitors navigate the website;

  • where visitors arrive from;

  • device and browser characteristics; and

  • general website performance.

  • attribute conversions;

  • understand advertising audiences;

  • page views;

  • session statistics;

  • approximate geographical location;

  • browser information;

  • device information;

  • referral information;

  • user interactions; and

  • pseudonymous identifiers.

Google Analytics uses a first-party cookie such as _ga to distinguish users and sessions where analytics storage is permitted. Google states that its standard Analytics implementation collects user numbers, session statistics, approximate geolocation and browser/device information. (Google Help)

  • analyse website traffic;

  • understand which services and content attract interest;

  • measure website performance;

  • improve website structure and content; and

If SegWitz enables Google advertising features, additional advertising identifiers or cookies may be used for features such as remarketing, demographic reporting or advertising measurement. Google requires websites using such advertising features to disclose their use and provide appropriate opt-out information. (Google Help)

Google provides controls for managing advertising and Analytics preferences, including Google account advertising settings and an Analytics opt-out browser add-on. (Google Help)

7. Meta Pixel

SegWitz intends to use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, to understand the effectiveness of advertising on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

  • advertising identifiers;

  • referral information;

Depending on the version and configuration used, reCAPTCHA may analyse information about a visitor’s interaction with the website and device to assess whether the activity appears legitimate.

SegWitz uses this information for website security and fraud prevention rather than advertising purposes.

Information processed through reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s applicable privacy policy and terms.
